The weight-loss pill has arrived
The FDA approved orforglipron, the first oral GLP-1 that needs no fasting or water timing, alongside oral semaglutide. A daily pill lowers the barrier to starting, which means more of your members will be on treatment, and more of them will need training and protein to keep the results.

The science
Up to 45% of the weight lost can be muscle
Trials put lean-tissue loss on semaglutide near 45% of total weight lost, and around 25% on tirzepatide, without training. Resistance work plus 1.2 to 1.6 g/kg of protein a day cuts that to near zero. That intervention is the gym.

Why it compounds
Losing muscle slows the metabolism
Every kilogram of muscle lost lowers resting energy use far more than fat does, which makes weight harder to keep off. Preserving lean mass is central to long-term maintenance, and it is exactly what a trainer delivers.
